Active Seniors

Welcome to the Swansea Area Seniors Association

Connecting Adults 55+ Through Fitness, Learning, Creativity, and Community

The Swansea Area Seniors Association, known as SASA is a self-funded, not-for-profit community association. It was originally founded in 1990 to accommodate the interests of mainly seniors living in the Village of Swansea by promoting educational, recreational, and athletic facilities.

Over the years, SASA has grown and evolved to promote the mental health and physical well-being of both men and women, aged 55 + residing primarily in the Swansea catchment area.  SASA provides a range of exercise/fitness classes geared to seniors throughout the week led by experienced, qualified instructors, as well as programs geared to the arts. There are also a number of drop-in social and recreational activities.

The SASA Board of Directors is comprised of a small group of enthusiastic SASA members who volunteer their time and expertise to manage the programs and activities which are offered in three month sessions each Fall, Winter and Spring.

Membership:

To participate in SASA programs and activities, adults 55 years of age and older are required to pay an annual fee, commencing in January of the current fiscal year.

The Assumption of Risk, Waiver and Release Agreement, is a condition of membership and must be signed before participating in any SASA programs or activities. This waiver is only signed once and remains in effect until a member resigns or no longer participates in any programs.

All members are entitled to attend and vote at the SASA Annual General Meeting which is held in the Spring.

❤️ Powered by Volunteers

SASA is governed by a dedicated volunteer Board of Directors. Board members contribute their time, experience, and enthusiasm to ensure the continued success of our programs and activities.

Their commitment helps create a welcoming and supportive environment where members can stay active, engaged, and connected.
